Tearjerker Throwback: The Most Wholesome Naruto Moments That Made Us Tear Up

The Naruto franchise, which has over 700 episodes (220 for the OG Naruto and 500 for Shippuden), has a fair share of very wholesome moments. Some scenes were just so heartwarming and touching that viewers couldn't help but feel tears rolling down their cheeks all of a sudden.

This blog, written to commemorate the titular character's birthday, lists down a few examples of those moments. Ready your tissues as we take the feels train down memory lane!

The Village Celebrates Naruto's Victory Over Pain

Naruto was ostracized when he was a kid, but through his hard work and sincere heart, he was slowly accepted by the people of the village. After all, it wasn't his fault that he became the vessel of the fox demon who nearly destroyed the whole place when he was born. The village was on the brink of destruction again, and this time, by a seemingly more formidable enemy: Pain, said to be the leader of the Akatsuki terrorist group.

Right at the most perfect moment, Naruto arrived and engaged the villain in a long and epic battle. Naruto pulled all his aces up his sleeves, and Pain - the same guy who killed Jiraiya - was finally defeated. Naruto went back to the village, and everyone was waiting for him.

In another touching moment, Iruka reminisces the time he spent with Naruto as a kid. Naruto back then was still just dreaming of becoming the Hokage, and Iruka was kindhearted enough to show his belief in him. Right at this moment, Iruka realizes that Naruto's dream is literally just at a hand's reach now. Naruto has grown stronger that anyone could ever imagine.

Naruto Asks Iruka to Stand for His Dad

The Fourth Great Ninja War proved to be the longest two days for all the characters in the show. It claimed the lives of many, including Neji, Shikakku, and Inoichi, along with tens of thousands of other unnamed shinobi. Even so, the villains were defeated and the world was saved. After a brief timeskip, Naruto and Hinata decided to marry each other.

In the most touching way possible, Naruto asked Iruka to attend the wedding as his father. Iruka, who had been with him from the very start was reluctant at first. But after a few moments of thinking about it, Iruka gave the most wonderful answer.

Rock Lee and the Other Guys Save Naruto From a Lonely Day

Although Naruto has a lot of friends, loneliness strikes him at times, too, because he lives by himself. On Episode 311 of Shippuden, it was shown how lonely Naruto could be. To make himself feel better, Naruto creates two shadow clones and spoke with them. They even played cards with a limited-edition premium ramen at stake. This was a really sad moment, even though it was passed off as a light-hearted one.

On the same episode, Naruto's friends realized that he was feeling bad. Rock Lee took the initiative to visit everyone and encourage them to go to Naruto's tiny house and bond with him. It was one of the kindest gestures - seeing a friend being sad and doing something about it. The boys spent the night with Naruto and even played cards with him. They bickered and playfully taunted each other, but in the end, they just laughed everything off and had a lot of fun.

Iruka Wishes Naruto a Happy Birthday

As an orphan, Naruto never had a celebration for his birthday. But that's no longer the case because the most heartwarming scene happened on the "Road to Ninja" movie.

At the start of the movie, Naruto was ranting at Iruka about his parents. Iruka told him that Minato was a great person, but Naruto quipped and said that a stone face cannot wait for and welcome him at home. A lot of stuff happened in the movie, but at the end of it all, Naruto simply went back to his dark home. He sighed when he opened the door, but as soon as he turned the lights on, he saw Iruka with a birthday cake for him, pretending to be mad and nagging at him for being late. Even so, Iruka smiled and said what Naruto wanted to hear for as long as anyone can remember: "Okaeri!"

Minato and Naruto Finally Bid Farewell

At the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War, the reincarnated people had to finally say their last goodbyes. The most epic and definitely the most touching of them was Naruto and Minato's farewell wishes. The father-and-son duo never met in real life, but thanks to Edo Tensei, the two of them got to meet at the very least and even fought battles together.

Minato and Kushina died on the day Naruto was born as they tried to save the village from destruction. On their dying breaths, the two of them kept Naruto alive through the sheer power of love and even said their wishes for Naruto. Minato asked Naruto to be strong and loving, while Kushina hoped that Naruto becomes a healthy kid.

The Fourth Great Ninja War ended on Naruto's birthday, too. But the farewell between him and Minato, although extremely heartbreaking, was still hopeful. Of course, Minato saw that his wishes had come true because Naruto had really become a strong and loving person. Just a few seconds before the Edo Tensei finally breaks off, Naruto asks Minato to tell Kushina that he loves ramen but also eats a lot of healthy foods from time to time.

Happy birthday, Naruto! #
